I'm collecting my resale PC in a few week's time. What do I need to take note in taking over from the owner?

Thanks for helping! :p

U may ended up with unwanted junks leftover by the previous owner instead.

OMG!!! I hope they're not so inconsiderate to leave big junks behind.

So, when will the lawyer contact us again after exercising the OTP?

Need to look out for anything?

if you bought resale, then it's the usual "as-is where is" condition. when you get the keys, be sure to change all the locks. in this case, the only things i foresee that you can take over would be stuff like aircon remotes / keys (main door/room door/ letter box) other than that .. anything he chooses to leave behind for you to clean up would really be your problem (to take care of)

hope that helps

i believe the sellers are reasonable people too. just have a word with the property agent to convey the message that you don't want anything to be left behind

you will need to head down to the law firm for an initial meeting. the lawyer will brief you about the timeline, check on the finances, blah blah blah.

then once the transaction is executed, the next meeting should be the last - present an account balance, handover, execution of documents, blah blah blah

Your lawyer will usually demand for vacant possession

which mean the unit needs to be vacant out, clear of any objects etc.

If they didnt do so, you have the right to demand them to clear out.

Ok, sure! noted.

We're not intending to find ID. 'Coz the house is in a good condition and some slight renovation done before somemore.

Previous owner doesn't have a lot of inbuilt cabinets etc and we also don't that kind of style. We want to buy movable pieces of furniture and add a touch of our personalities. Don't really like the usual modern/contemporary style that a lot of houses come with nowadays. I like a bit of traditional touch to it. With wood pieces and something eclectic like a unique armchair etc.

Moreover, we aren't moving in until some time later. Bought the house coz we like it but no hurry to move in yet. Taking our time to do it up.

BF and myself are going to be the ID. :D

My lawyer said there nothing much you can do if the seller left junk behind, he say you want to spend few thousand to sue the seller? Why not just pay 100 dollar to dispose off the junk. Make sense

I have bought one with partial furnished tenancy and only realised that the owner has left me with a few nice large paintings, microwave, large mirror and table when the new tenant takes over. :D

hahaa.. so it's like a surprise.

Ours is unfurnished but maybe ceiling fans etc will be left behind. We'll want to change them anyway. :D

since it is a private PC dont forget the Resident's pass ...

u need it when booking to use facilities ..

many sellers own more than 1 unit in a condo ... they tend to keep the pass for their own use ...
