Starting a new thread on wage inflation, be very very careful of reducing FT intake ...
Take IT where we have lots of Indian, mainland China, Pinoy FTs
in 2009 recession year:
NUS Computer Engineering – $2,900 ($3,440)
NUS Computer Science – $2,900 ($3,290)
NTU Computer Science – $2,900 ($3,250)
NTU Computer Engineering – $2,900 ($3,200)
in 2012:
NUS Bachelor of Computing (Computer Science) – $3,683 ($4,000)
NUS Bachelor of Computing (Computer Engineering) – $3,630 ($3,942)
NUS Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering) – $3,403 ($3,450)
NTU Computer Science – $3,371 ($3,700)
from 2.9k to 3.5k is already like 14% increase
those in the 75th percentile (i.e. the betters SCs) already closing in on 4k per month in 2012
if two 75th percentile graduates marry each other ... starting pay will be around 8kpm .. no wonder income ceiling of BTO must go up to 10kpm
