If they let them in, it will encourage more to come. Provide them food, water and medical aid is fine but need to carefully consider to let them in or not. Maybe give them enough fuel to return to where they came from?

Yup, I agree with you about providing them with the daily necessities and send them back.

We cannot set a precedence by accepting them.

If they wanna come here, they should go through the proper channels.

if go back, refugee may be "no live"... and captain also need to payback his big profit$$ collected per refugee ferrying...

the ship will have to keep travelling until finding a country accepting them... govts might not be giving them any aids so as not to encourage the ship anchored at international water near their country forever... this is quite normal if you read the international news often.... australia angmoh country now also don;t take refugee liow....

i believe the captain will move the ship away if you give him some $$tips... those people are not some real heroes... they are more like asking for some ransom...

and once refugees enter your land, international human rights will make sure they cannot be deported forever.... international human rights don't care whatever your problems....

one very simple question:

why singapore??...
from myanmar to singapore, you need to passby thailand, m'sia, sumatra...
also india, bangladesh are nearer than sgp....

Things the refugees can try in order

1) man overboard situation
test the waters, have "1 volunteer" to MOB.
does SPF/coastguard have to rescue the MOB? after rescuing, put back to ship or bring person back to singapore camp?

2) if after MOB and put back to ship, refugees can try to swim towards Singapore.
what is SPF going to do? shoot them?
so refugee put back to ship or bring back to singapore camp?

3) a portion of refugees pretend to commandeer the vessel, with captain's cooperation.
they will be considered as pirates.
i think SPF will be forced to respond as ship is nearest to Singapore water, not Indonesia, not Malaysia. captain and refugees better make sure of ships location.
remember to surrender peacefully.
EDIT:
just found from wiki that "Piracy that endangers life" is a capital offence.
what kind of piracy that dont endangers life?

what is the worst thing that can happen?
imo, life in singapore prison better than life in myanmar prison.

According to this report, they wanna come to Singapore ........

"Singapore authorities say the captain of the Nosco Victory ignored advice from Indian rescue authorities to take the people it picked up to the nearest port, which probably was in India or Bangladesh.

The captain instead continued on to Singapore, its original destination."
