I bought a set of recliner from ikea at $6xx some 5yrs ago. Last week, I bought a similar set from ikea but at only $429. So far so good, I feel the built has the same quality, but with even better fabrics.
New supply chain strategies and logistics network models are able to reduce transportation costs, be it raw materials or finished products, and make lower pricings possible.

All I can say is lower production cost + logistics costs has made lower pricings possible. Overcharged or not I m not sure... Same goes to the many items sold in daiso, u can get very nice and big flower pots (made in jap), toolkits, utensils, stationery, household items etc, albeit not of v high quality, but definitely not at a price of $2 in the past.
Motorcycle coupon parking has been 65 cents per day since sept 2001. :p
