It is too cold there during winter.

I was having the idea of having a second home overseas with good ocean view, but find it costly, inconvenient and hard to maintain.

bro, new zealand is also one of my favourite place..

but who gonna live with you in NZ? you & wife only?
will you miss singapore if migrate to there?
can u 'integrate' with the nz people there?
it will not be an easy choice

After spending a whole lifetime in fast moving Singapore, not easy to get used to a very slow lifestyle for too long a period. You will appreciate it for 2-3mths maximum in a place like NZ before boredom sets in. Use the home for regular visits but not for long term stay.
My dream retirement home is a villa in Bali or Phuket , but only for short and regular visit.

Looking forward to the completion of my retirement home that has a marina and greenery view on high floors. May invest in a yacht to go fishing with my family. Unfortunate thing is that my official retirement is another 20 years later.:(

Oh, IC... I think I call my agent up and check it out... Hahahaha

I think this will sell out before qbay launch. Then subsale will start... So you can then imagine Qbay pricing liao... Hahahahah

This is like the repeat of Clover by the park. Took so long for prices to go up. People very funny, when price too cheap, they wont buy.... But price high, they cheong like nobody business... I dont understand, I wont try to understand, I just use it to my advantage. Hahahaha

I already am in semi-retire mode. But still earning full salary. Hahaha

:cheers3:

But bro, when I was younger, I worked like crazy leh... You think, all my knowledge come from me TCSS everyday??? No leh, I analyse like crazy leh... Thing I dont understand, I read and read until I understand leh....

That's why I am a deep person.. Of course that is in my mind... But I appreciate people who contradict me with proof and I will accept it. Not those who just tell me, u believe or not - up to you. Then dont show me proof of their argument.

Better stop here... Getting too much... TCSS time...

My dream home is a huge >3000sqft penthouse overlooking the sydney harbour or brisbane river in Australia (within 5km from city and suburbs amenities). I will be driving a ferrari/porsche/lambo/bentley there.

Or Taipei city penthouse overlooking the taipei 101 district.. here.. i can only drive a mercedes..hehe..

When i reached 65-70yrs old, i return to singapore to wait for death.. :)

But of course..that is a dream..

I spent so much time in coaches and find that Sydney harbour is the worst place to stay. Sea traffic is just too heavy. Those bays facing the ocean are so beautiful and these are the good places. I saw a few huge houses with access to beach and water front...dream house.

Went to the supermarket today to survey on prices. 1 kg of lychee is A$25, 1kg of prawn is A$30. Veg is also very expensive. 1 bottle of coke is A$4. 1 hotdog bun is A$5

Massage is A$90 for 50 minutes, and very lousy standard.

Car is cheap, one Merc 200 is around A$90,000 (need to check)

So, no way to retire there.

I had a pint of the local beer in a pub near brisbane city centre st A$10 in july. It is a rip-off. A bottle of 250ml coke cost A$3 in a supermarket. :beats-me-man:

People always think Aus cheap. They dont realise the cost of living damn high. You save on car, you lose on others.... The parking can also kill u.
When u go Melbourne, even better. You can drive but u have no place to park. Hahahahaha... At the end, u still need to find somewhere to park and take public transport to get around.

Laguna, try Nobu at Melbourne... Very interesting place... Need to call to reserve a place...

I had no problem squeezing myself at aud$20K yearly on rental, car, meals, clubbing while i was a student there in 2004. :) Maybe now need $40k per pax? Have to ask my friend in melbourne when i go visiting..

But of coz.. ang moh country usually is very sedane lifestyle.. Most sit at home after work and invite friends over for wine and dine. Cinemas also not crowded one.. lol.. When I need chinese entertainment like Karaoke, I head to chinatown.

weekends...head out to the mountains or beach .. Usually drive yourself.. Take TAXI will be bankrupt soon..hehe

But hor.. I think Taipei is a very good place to live for extended periods :) I also willing to go there! :)

Let alone the nearest hospital, you may have to wait 18mths to get an MRI like in Canada, by which time you would have dropped dead.
