SINGAPORE: A man in his early 20s was hurt in a dispute in Hougang Avenue 8 late on Friday night.
Police were alerted about the incident at about 11.30pm.
They said an eyewitness who was with the victim at a coffeeshop near Block 621 claimed that a group of people approached them and accused them of staring.
She said that one of them allegedly grabbed an ash tray, hit the victim on the head and then fled with the rest of the group.
The man suffered head injuries and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

My nephew (around 18 yrs old at that time) had such an experience also. He was with his girlfriend, a very young couple (about 15-16 yrs old) passed by and my nephew took a quick look at the girl because she was pregnant. This "boy" confronted my nephew and waited to hit him, luckily a policeman passed by.

Compare to the late 60s, early 70s ...these are peanuts .die another one or two no big deal ...
The gangs kids now got no honour or any loyalty.. police question few hours .. all the member contact , address And even email address all down load to police...

During that time , late 60s, gangs clashes and red riot police vans buzzing on the roads were common ..especially at tai Seng area.. even the police were fearful of them ...that why we used to have a police station at upper serangoon area..

Policemen these days a lot more time to focus on non-crime related stuff.... like helping us change our address on NRIC. :D :D

I suppose the government' resettlement programs works very well , it shattered all the gangs stronghold location in to rojak and deliberated mixing them into various hdb new towns ..hinge side, all kampong gone ...

Police resources now tie down to change ic, stray cats too noisy , and even dead dogs on the road...
