More than half (54 per cent) of Singapore-based expats earn more than US$200,000 (S$245,840) in annual income, compared to a global survey average of only 7 per cent, revealed the Expat Explorer 2012 survey by HSBC Expat on Monday.
The survey also revealed that 80 per cent of expats in Singapore saw an increase in their disposable income since relocating here. Around 44 per cent reported an increase of 50 per cent or more in their disposable income compared to the global average of 19 per cent.
The trend was similarly seen across other Asian countries, with expats in Hong Kong (79 per cent), Malaysia (72 per cent) and China (69 per cent) showing an increase in disposable income since moving to the country.
Singapore also scored well as a desirable place to live among expats, achieving 4th position in 'Expat Explorer Experience' global ranking and second in Asia after Thailand.

Is that the base pay, or did it take into account the bonuses and commission that you can potentially earn up to that amount?

If you make 200k usd a year, how much would you pay for rental....:beats-me-man:

Would you buy an apartment in sgp? And how much would you pay, despite the absd?

Based on my stats from URA, the percentage of ang moh expat buying our local property imo does not pose a huge impact as compared to our rich citizens in our neighboring countries

means u are old.. old always reminiscence of the past. My mother will think of he old kampong days... and my grand mother the older times in china.. and so on n so forth... its normal to think of something we are familar with and feel better abt it.

But do we want to go back? I dont think many can go back to squat on the dirty walk way with 1 leg raise eat noodle..

Might make a good photo shoot but dont think many pple can go back to living in china town the way it used to be.
