eh..... geylang raids had been happening since eons ago.
how to clean the place up, without a plan to relocate the loansharks, bookies, gangsters, prostitutes? there's no way of eradicating such activities entirely
govt is sending strong signals that we only allow those licensed to carry on. no street walkers and visible vices pls.

If the police wants to do something about Geylang, they would have done it long ago. Always easier to fight fire in 1 area then have it all over the place.

no street walkers?! try walking down geylang at night and see for yourself the horde of street walkers
Whole Geylang street blocked off tonight...probably for a major raid
quick go register geylang online! time to move them to E-commerce!

A world War II bomb was discovered on Monday near a busy intersection in Geylang.
Police said that they received a call at 12.40pm saying it had been found at the junction of Lorong 22 and Guillemard Road.
Bomb disposal specialists from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) arrived on the scene to remove the war relic, which was discovered on a patch of grass between a disused four-storey apartment and a drain. It was unclear how the bomb was found.
Roads leading to the area were cordoned off, including Lorong 22 and Guillemard Road between Mountbatten Road and Cassia Crescent. This caused a traffic jam.
