I'm active in stocks ;) make a few peanuts only as my capital is small...

I don't trust fund managers who charge u management fee of a few percentage points whether up or down and then charge u performance fee if they do a bit well. Sure way to enrich the fund managers.

according to experts :doh:....commodities and metals are going to rally due to qe3....the gold etf has shot thru the roof as well as companies such as cnmc goldmines...i like oil/gas counters...made a few $ on ezion/ezra...now holding swiber....damm missed out on IEV yesterday it FLEW...i had a LUCKY run with M1(always under the SUN)....went in at 2.6 sold at 2.72(HISTORICAL high)....I base my selection on charting BUT like i said.....AT times like this every body is a GURU....but when the tide goes back to see....u better be out of the water or sitting on a luxury yatch somewhere...:D:D:D

Most days I make peanuts, enough for daily meals, some days I lose peanuts, sometimes I lose BIG BIG when I gamble BIG BIG.

No pure nonsense, I am a SPECULATOR, a GAMBLER, basically. What else can I do to feed myself and my dependents? Nowadays, just today, one pasta meal for one person already $20. When I was dating, two fish & chips meals for 2 person only $10. How to survive if got no fixed salary, except to GAMBLE and HUAT Big Big?

NOT give up just shelved my plan at the moment..i realise i wasting a lot of my time...i really dont know what i want...so till i get that sorted i have decided to divert my funds....

Defensive counters....starhub/sgx/M1/capitallmall

speculative...IEV/swiber/Hi-P/midas

oil/marine...ezra/ezion

NB:A few of these have reached HISTORICAL highs... some might think its stupid to buy...buy hey same goes for the property mkt....

Those making loss and hoping to regain the next week may never happen N may continue to Lao sia ...

Same if gain to certain margin , sell ,nn body know what happen next ...

I am lousy on this , still paying school fee and broker fee ...

trading the market in the past 4 years is more suitable for full timers. unless one has ultra long time horizons, I am talking about 3-5 years. otherwise, very difficult to trade this market for those small gains.

Property market is also manipulated by the developers, banks and government.

Just to add: most companies are small and they are okay to fail. But property market is too large to fail. Hence property market is inherently a safer casino in Singapore.

I think many people also think it is too Large to FAIL!
Drop some % may be but won't drop to ZERO value, not like shares, bonds, gold and any other investments etc. :p

i dun have much luck in stocks in earlier years. coz young mah, cannot afford blue chips, buy penny stocks.. most of them i have lost 90% of value. in later years i have been trading blue chips, practically NO loss on any of them, touch and go. but blue chips are heavily on quantum, so dun dare to bet big (eg: one lot kep corp is $10!!!) nor hold long coz anticipating downturn anytime, dun wan to get caught.

ppty is more of a no-brainer. just select the right one, leave it there, make sure can afford to pay instalment.. the rest... they say... is history. :)

yup i remember those days...kamunting kemanyan...mrcb...promet...bloody con job...last time u buy share they give u the bloody scripts like certificate to collect then u can go hong leong finance and use scrip to get loan....kns kns kns...loose a lot of money then...kena clobbered:banghead::banghead::banghead:...if back then just buy one stupid landed property today huat x10...can come here talk kok like godfather....but lan lan...now only got hdb...so only can suck thumb...wahahaha....:D:D:D...but at least still can talk kok whether godfather or hdb owner in forum all men are equal....:cheers5::cheers5::cheers5:
