Police arrest 17-year-old who allegedly molested women in lifts

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 17-year-old youth believed to be responsible for several cases of outrage of modesty reported in Jalan Damai, Jalan Tenaga and Bedok Reservoir Road.
The arrest comes after several reports of molest in the area, by women aged between 16 and 19.
Police said the suspect would enter the lift at the ground floor and molest his victims as they were exiting the lift.
The suspect will be charged in court tomorrow.
If convicted, he could be jailed up to 10 years jail and caned.
Police advise the public to be attentive to their surroundings in public places, and if a stranger rushes in as the lift door closes, they should press the "door open" button and take the next lift. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
