What would be average real inflation rate from 2006-2016?

(1) 5%
(2) 6%
(3) 7%
(4) 8%
(5) 9%

Consider:

Doctor/nurses salary up 16-20%
NTUC Fairprice staff gets up to 15.8% pay rise
Civil service gets 10-20% pay rise
COE up up up
Rent up up up
Property price up upup
REITs going rampant

Are we in a vicious cycle of high inflation boosting wages and then higher wages drives inflation even higher

Official may be 5%.
what people really felt / got hit 10%.
Nothing we can do since massive money printed to save economy. The alternative of not printing is worst deflation, in which case we rather chose inflation.

A wage-price spiral is indeed a real danger. Once price expectations are anchored, it is very difficult to break. Really, the only way out of this is a recession, not unlike wat we experienced in 2008.
