The real estate price in Dubai was down as bad as 80% in 2008-09, it is up 20% this year.
With oil prices going higher, and Arab Spring money/families seeking for safe heaven, it could be an excellent opportunity to invest in Dubai.

If NUS ex-principle could survive there, I guess language or culture differences is not something Singaporeans cannot overcome.

Comments welcome.

Thanks,
Richard

She lost her long-awaited baby while being held in Dubai

If you are waiting for your grand child, don't sent your daughter-in-law to Dubai.

Dont understand the part about going to Rome to pray for safe delivery of the baby.

需要吗?

Or there are some other facts not reported ? If my wife is pregnant after 8 years of trying, I will make sure she stay in Singapore and take good care of herself until she delivers. Going to Rome is certainly a no-no. (That will save me some money also la! hahaha!)

PS : My heartfelt sympathies with the woman. Hope she will get pregnant again very soon.

I heard that you'll be lockup in jail if you own bank money. You'll get out if you pay up.
That's why report said that many foreigners dumped their nice cars at the airport when they lost their jobs during the lehmen crissis. Rather lose the car than go to jail.

yupz, most of them bought houses/cars there with loans. When they sell their cars, the authorities will get wind of it that they are trying to leave and they will be handcuff right at their house. Most of them dare not even host any farewell parties or letting their neighbours know that they are leaving.

by dumping their cars at the airport is sort of NOT alerting the authorities that they are leaving.
