To all brudders and sisters here, would like to enquire your opinion on the above for priority banking (usually 200K SGD minimum) - which bank is the best?

Was thinking of DBS Treasures but not sure if it's that good (though it is convenient)

thanks ;)

I think standard chartered is good. know a very helpful banker always try to secure best interest. another plus point, standard chartered is less crowded.

The problem with Relationship Manager or Client Associate is that they earn their commissions through product sale. If you are not buying any bonds or structured products from them, there is no incentive for them to serve you. Unless you are already buying products from them, they might provide you with valued added services such as advising you on the best interests saving or earning products which they do not have any cut.

If you cease to have the minimum sum required to be a privilege member, for SC, you need to pay $50 per month if you want to continue to be in their list.

think it's the same with all banks la... $50 a month can be easily waived off....

From what i remember I personally didnt find any of the banks different.. i have dealt with HSBC Premier/SCB Privileged/DBS Treasures/UOB Affluent/Citi Gold.. all abt the same.. in the privilege banking segment there isn't much difference in terms of product offering. So if everyone is selling the same things to you, just choose the prettiest RM to talk to lo....;) ... Or which ever is the most accessible or makes you feel "song"...

Only when you upgrade to private banking status... then the bank makes a difference.... global reach is something that local banks can't compete with the likes of UBS / CS / JPM... Having a strong investment banking unit backing up the private banking business is vital....

Why do you need a "priority-premier-privilege" banking? The only good thing is that you can cut queue in the occasional time when you need to go to the bank. It's hardly necessary now with internet banking.

Don't get better rates either.

Ok, there's free coffee at their lounges if you're thick-skinned enough.

They will try to sell you "structured" products with hefty commissions. I'm quite capable of losing my own money....
