Forummers,

I had read in one of the threads recently (but unable to find it now), that there will be another MRT extension after Bukit Panjang... to include more areas including Sungei Kadut, Mandai, etc?

From what I had heard before, there will be an MRT maintenance depot near to Stagmont Road, along Woodlands Road - and that is the furthest in the Bukit Panjang MRT route. Currently there is a lot of land clearing and piling along this stretch of road and also those stretch of old shophouses and flatted factories seems to be clearing out too?!

Seems there is another new extension now??? Can those who are aware of the MRT plans, please enlighten the new routings and plans?

Appreciate it, thanks.

True or Fake? u decide yourself. :o

Unauthorised maps often give rise to confusion. My advise is always refer to LTA website for official and accurate information on MRT lines."

Thank you but unfortunately LTA website does not seem to have any references to this part of the island (yet?).

Hopefully there will be others who has the info to share.

This map confirmed all wrong. Even the downtown line is wrong. don't use it anymore.

I don't think there is any news of NW extension. Stop at Bt Panjang and doesn't go up further to the nature areas since no population there. Our govt planning is always east-focus. Thats why WEST is one BIG zone whereas east is split into East and Northeast for mor customised planing. ven Bt Panjang much nearer to town than Punggol, I doubt it will ever receive the same kind of treatment becos there is nver a northwest zon for specialised planning. Having said that, no development also not bad. Doesn't get too crowded or artificial. This area very green and natural. I would rather the northwestern end remains an untouched nature area.

Don't think MRT will ever go northwest up to D24 - unlike built up area at the far northeasten end like D19 or D17.

the govt currently seems intent to make good its plan to develop the NW areas such as Tengah. Lots of land clearing activities on the land parcels adjacent to KJE! looks like lots of farms will start to make way...

In addition, the old keat hong camp is being torn down. the part closer to tengah has been sold for BTO. they have started to clear the other parts closer to CCK center... that is a super big plot of land!

If the govt is really gg to build a new town at tengah, they may have to consider linking the Boon Lay station to the NW area... otherwise, who will ever want to move there? it is directly in between the N-S line CCK and E-W line of Boon Lay...
