Healthy demand for The Tampines Trilliant

BUYERS snapped up 149 units when sales opened at The Tampines Trilliant executive condominium at the weekend.

Prices averaged $766 per sq ft for the 670-unit estate being developed by the Sim Lian Group.

The healthy demand also resulted in 32 of the 48 double-storey penthouses being taken up, with 75 per cent of those going to first-time buyers. Penthouse prices start from $1.112 million.

There were 1,000 submissions received for the estate during the application period last month.

A buyer of a four-unit flat who wished to be known only as Madam Tok told The Straits Times: 'The location is its selling point. It is within walking distance to three parks, Tampines MRT station, even the upcoming Downtown Line interchange.

'It is near to nature, and I feel that it is a good place for the children.'

The mother of three added that the estate was near her children's schools.

Mr Nicholas Mak, executive director of SLP International, noted that last year's increase in the income ceiling for executive condos from $10,000 to $12,000 will appeal to new families and young couples.

'It will also attract buyers in the higher income bracket,' he said.

'The Tampines area is unlikely to have another executive condo for the next one to two years.

'So, buyers who do not fall into the category of making investment purchases are naturally drawn to this one.'
