View Full Version : PSFPP new indicator of living space?
Recently some Minister talk about quality of life being maintained and in fact improved due to smaller family size. So each person actually enjoy more living space as opposed to older times bigger flat but more people cramped in it. So now we need a new space indicator? Per square feet per person? PSFPP? How much PSFPP do you currently enjoy?
These days with the ridiculously huge baywindows, huge balcony, huge planter, huge aircond ledge, huge bomb shelter...
and ridiculously small bedrooms, small living, small dining, small kitchen...
what kind of improved quality of life tokking about?
Maybe for young couples in love, is OK... add 1 or 2 kids, its horrible! :hell-hath-no-fury:
psfpp nett of planter, and air con ledge would be a refined figure.
Then those HDB executive flats and jumbo flats = extreme luxury? Their sizes range from 130sqm to over 200sqm.
those 150sqm quite comfortable and luxurious in terms of space.

Yes but if 10pax stay in it then psfpp is only 20sqm
I see this as critical. This is highly correlated to level of stress/sanity
if one is staying within 4 walls without much interaction or nice landscape, one will be under stress

Yes if you treat both as family members ... ;-)
HDB has been building blocks that are very close together. Actual common spaces actually shrunk by a lot. It has also been cutting costs by not building or upgrading enough parking lots. This clearly points to lack of coordination between HDB and LTA on vehicular population planning and catering to the needs of the residents.
Bro, how much more they make by building more densely.
Charge you for higher land cost, construction cost and squeeze more units. More people per sq m means more GST/tax can be collected.
As for cars/car parks - you want to drive? Pay for COE/find your own car-park lot. Else I fine you. ERP also earn. Either way revenue is earned.

Actually how come the 101 to 200 sq ft per person is in the "average" category?
So if there are 4 members in a family, that works out to be 101 x 4 = 404 sq feet for the whole house.
Hmmmm.... isn't that an MM?
Isn't that a bit squeezy?

Agree with you.
That's about the size of EA.
That should be under "comfortable" category.
For me, luxurious is > 1000 sq feet per person.
