haiz, this survey is so so true:doh:

"The survey covered 1,404 people in Singapore, including 1,001 citizens and permanent residents (PR), 201 work permit and employment pass holders and 201 tourists."

wah piang....PR=singaporeans?

under the harsh realities of global competition, people will inevitably lose their sense of graciousness. try this survey on hong kong and they'll probably see very little difference in results.

Democracy has no place in a society where people are self-centred.

Japan is actually a very closed economy, but open to exports. Not many can go there to compete on their soil, particularly if you don't speak their language.

sad to say over the past few years the word singaporeans has lost its meaning...:(

It doesn't necessarily mean that the competition there is less tough than here. Yet, peoples there treat each other, including foreigners, with respect and kindness.
Giving up your seat to those who need it more won't cost you more than the fare you paid. After all, it is not our responsibilities to be gracious; it is our rights to be gracious. Go and decide who we are.

If the survey is carried out on PAP Ministers and their Grassroots eunuchs, the result will be the same too.

Talk about graciousness, why was residents at Hougang and Potong Pasir denied upgrading and development for 20 odd years just because they voted Opposition MPs.

Every residents in Opposition areas pay taxes too so why the punishments ??

No queue in the world will last 20 odd years or one generation long.

The Opposition areas were never in the queue.

Why Sitoh Yipin sacked all the former Potong Pasir Town Council staff and ask them to join a outsourcing Town Council company so they can deploy to other parts of Singapore. Some more need probation.

These former staff under Chiam See Tong has been at Potong Pasir maximum for 27 years.

Why PA grassroots from RC, CCC, CDAC, CDC, Mendaki, Sinda etc all work for PAP losers in the Opposition areas but not Opposition MPs in the Opposition areas.

PA is funded by taxpayers money and not PAP, so why the partisanship ??

As long as PAP as government is not fair, be self-centred and not gracious in its dealings with Singaporeans, you can forget about Singaporeans being gracious too.

a robber will politely say thank you for your donation after robbing you of your valuables.
a murderer will say apologize after killing you.
are they polite? well yes :)
Japanese are polite, but dont associate politeness with respect and kindness.

correct you a bit. it is our choice to be gracious.
In MRT, the gracious people are those in non-reserved seats giving up their seats.

Still, it is no excuse for PAP to treat Opposition areas that way.

Hiding behind normalcy for doing evil or not doing anything about it is no way for government to operate.

How about some Ministers salary normalcy then.

What the least government can do as the highest authority in the country is at least show more graciousness than any of the citizens itself.

It will not transform Singapore into Gracious Wonderland but it will rub off pockets of citizens at least.

I beg to differ....

Last time ppl r less educated n they will squeeze into buses and will not queue up to buy food etc....

However wif the influx of foreign workers, these problems arise again

So depends on how u see it....

Young gen more self centred compared to the previous gen? I wud tink so

Nice to see you starting threads yourself.Nice to see you still active here!!! Yes Singaporeans' behavior is :scared-1:. From many housing agents who mostly do not have your interest (buyers/sellers) at heart but only their own money earning interest at heart to the govt (as pointed out by you)... hahahaha!!! Actually I find people more gracious 10-15years ago. We've lost that graciousness over time.As more and more parents are educated, they spend more time at work than staying home to educate their kids and to inculcate values in them on graciousness and what have you so its only natural that people are getting less gracious... a 1st world country problem... Not sure if Japan faces this though! Hmmm...

I give way den ended up kena caught by traffic lights! Den how? Blame pap for building so many traffic lights la! HahahhaaBlame or don't blame is one issue but there is really a ridiculous number of traffic lights in our country! For a city, its considered really too many... the most infuriating thing is on a short road of about 1 km with about 4 different traffic junctions, its red every time you approach it. Then wait for it to turn green and move off only to brake again at the next traffic junction which just turned red! Then you'll see red :simmering:. This is our lovely country! :D

correct

thats why never buy sports car in singapore ..

most of the time you are engaged in First gear onlyEven expressways have a speed limit of either 70, 80 or 90km/h. That's so torturous for sports car, isn't it? :D

Regulators
07-07-11, 16:03
You can buy, but get into the habit of doing high speed braking each time you want to go fast, minimum requirement is a set of brembo 4/2 pot and you have to change brake pads every 3 months.

The worst thing is that it is a straight road, no traffic junction and they just installed a traffic light! They stopped constructing overhead bridges to save costs? :banghead:

I gave way to this Audi A4 on Tuesday morning only to get cut off by a XC90 behind the A4, XC90 drove in the centre of a 2 lane Tanjong Katong road heading towards ECP. Well , the Audi A4 was going at 35km/hr , finally managed to overtake both cars and the driver of the A4 was none other than "Mr NDP wave" SR Nathan:beats-me-man:
